Chevalier d'Anthelme Cellier des Chartreux Rosé

Tasting Notes: Lovely pale color with salmon-pink glints. Rich nose with aromas of pastry and red-fruit cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry, strawberry and notes of caramel. Fresh and fruity on the palate, intense mineral core and notes of crunchy grape. Full bodied, with ripe rounded summer berries but briskly balanced, it's a joyous summer sip best enjoyed while its plush, perfumed fruit stays intact.


The Estate: Back in 1587 the peasants of neighboring villages and Rochefort Puzho began to drain the pond, located in Puzho, and a quarter of a century, in 1612, the work was completed. Peasants opened wide valley with excellent fertile land. During the reign of King Henry IV, these lands were divided between the monks of the abbey Cartesians St.Andreas in Villeneuve-les-Avignon and peasants village Puzho. In those days, the Cartesians were representatives of one of the most influential and wealthy Orders and up to 1789 successfully developed a culture of winemaking. After the French Revolution, these lands have been re-distributed among the peasants village of Villeneuve-les-Avignon, Sauveterre and Puzho. In 1929, the winemakers of these municipalities decided to join forces and founded the cooperative, which is now known under the name Cellier des Chartreux. At this point in the cooperative includes 70 winemakers, producing a wide range of wines from the region of the Rhône Valley, which includes as different categories of wine.

The winery employs both traditional and modern winemaking techniques to enhance the quality of their wines. This includes careful vineyard management, hand-harvesting of grapes, and controlled fermentation processes to preserve the natural characteristics of the fruit.


Suggested food and wine pairing: Great as an appetiser or grilled shrimps, seared scallops, sushi or sashimi, Niçoise salad, avocado salads, caprese salad (fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil), mixed greens with citrus vinaigrette, roast chicken with herbs, turkey breast with cranberry sauce, chicken salad with walnuts and grapes, Greek mezze platter (hummus, tzatziki, olives, and pita), grilled vegetables, ratatouille, cheese (fresh goat, feta, Brie), berry desserts (fresh berries, watermelon, peaches or apricots).
